We are a well established merger & acquisitions firm that concentrates on selling businesses with sales in the 2 to 15 million dollar range. One of our specialties is selling to private equity groups. Private equity groups (or PEGs) know how to make deals quickly and professionally. They are willing and able to pay a fair price for their acquisitions, and in many cases will pay a higher price than non-PEG buyers will.

PEGs typically buy companies that are a good deal larger than 2 to 15mm dollars. However we have carved out a specialty in selling businesses in this range to PEGs:

  • Add-ons — Some PEGs acquire larger firms and then implement a growth by acquisitions strategy. That is, they add on a number of smaller companies that are in the same industry or in a related industry. We are in regular contact with PEGs that are looking for various types of add-on acquisitions.
  • Well financed PEGs — The fact is, anyone can hang out a shingle and call themselves a private equity group. In fact, there are groups out there who will make a deal pending financing and worry about getting financing after the deal is made. Those are not the firms we deal with. We have been selling to PEGs for years; we know which ones are well financed and which ones are not. In short, we know which PEGs are able to close the deals they make.
  • Relationships — We have developed and nurtured relationships with several PEGs. Not only do we know who they are, but they know us too. They know if we call with a deal, it's a deal worth looking at and that it will be properly presented based on their acquisition needs.
  • Special searches — Several Private Equity Groups have retained us to find specific add-ons for them. These PEGs may be looking for specific products, technologies, or to expand in new geographic markets. The current list of what we are looking for can be found here.
